"Puberty is characterized by increased insulin resistance, body condition was unable to absorb glucose which causes blood sugar levels become high, and became the forerunner of type 2 diabetes," explains Joel.
In healthy adolescents, this condition will disappear after puberty is over. However, this is what probably caused the girls are more prone to develop diabetes later in life.
