Fast memory Decreasing If Approaching Death

Fast memory Decreasing If Approaching Death - Memory loss usually occurs due to the aging process. But the study found a person's memory will decline faster if he was nearing the time of death of approximately 2 to 2.5 years before death.

In a second study found a person's memory will decline more rapidly in the 2 to 2.5 years before death. Both studies are published online 4 April 2012 in Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.

Researchers enrolled 174 people with no memory problems, and have been tested endurance of memory for up to 6-15 years before his death. After his death, scientists examined the brains of participants.

The study found an average of about 2 to 2.5 years before death, memory and thinking ability a person tends to decline along about 8-17 times faster than before.

"We use the end of life as a reference for research on memory loss and not at birth," said study author Robert S Wilson, PhD, of Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, as quoted by Medindia on Saturday (07/04/2012).

Hiroko H. Dodge, PhD of the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland said the change in mental abilities for 2-3 years before death is not associated with Alzheimer's disease.

"The decline in memory and cognition is likely to involve some biological changes in the brain that are specific to the end of life," said Hiroki are also members of the American Academy of Neurology.

Ability to think normally healthy adults will begin to decline at age 45-49 years, but gently. But this condition will decline much more rapid decline of his death.
