Heart Attack Anti vaccine will Coming Soon
Heart Attack Anti vaccine will Coming Soon - Heart disease is one condition that can make people die suddenly. In the next five years, will soon present a vaccine against heart disease.
According to experts, an injection of antibodies can prevent fatty buildup in arteries that causes narrowings and rupture of blood vessels, the which lead to heart attack.
This will be the first time the cause of heart disease were targeted, rather than by reducing such factors as the level of bad cholesterol and high blood pressure which increases the likelihood of heart disease.
According to experts in meeting the Cardiovascular Biology at Imperial College London, there are several different approaches in the blood vessels and is licensed in five years.
Experts say the vaccine will be very promising and could have a major impact on the treatment of disease.
Heart disease has become the scourge of the biggest causes of death for all people around the world, including Indonesia. Lack of exercise, poor diet, smoking and drinking too much alcohol is a major cause of heart disease, but also note that there are hereditary factors.
Coronary heart disease occurs when fatty plaque builds up in blood vessels that 'feed' the heart and from time to time be narrowed.
Part of the plaque, known as atheroma (lipid-containing substances in tissues, especially in the arterial wall), can rupture and cause clots that can block the arteries, eventually causing a heart attack.
"People at high risk of heart attacks tend to be the first candidate to approach immunity. Such a treatment, because it has an entirely different mode of action, can be used as an adjunct to current therapies," explains Prof. Nilsson, professor of experimental cardiovascular research at Lund University, Sweden, as reported by the Telegraph, Monday (04/02/2012).
Professor Nilsson says that despite current treatments such as statins and blood pressure medications are very effective in reducing the risk of cardiovascular problems such as heart attack and stroke by about 40 percent, but should not be forgotten that 60 percent of cardiovascular events continue to occur.
"Experiments have shown that this vaccine may change the way the immune system reacts to plaque in the artery to reduce the inflammation and the severity of what happened," explained Prof. Nilsson.
Prof. Nilsson together with a team of Prof. Prediman Shah, of Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles, was able to formulate a vaccine that reduces the buildup of plaque around 60 to 70 percent in mice.
CVX-210 vaccine produced currently in development by CardioVax injections, waiting for the rules to begin clinical trials. While the second vaccine using the same materials have been formulated as a nasal spray.
